New Xzoga

Just had my new jig stick land yesterday.  Its one not too many people (if any) over here would have seen before.

Alot of people are probably familiar with the Xzoga Taka-Si range, in particular the 6012 and 6013 it seems.  This rod is still in the same range but is a 6312.  I havent felt the 6012 for action but from all I can see the difference is this rod has an extra 3 inches on it and slightly different handle set up. I believe it is designed for "Inchiku" which looks to be pretty much slow jigging with a metal rigged with a pirate style octo skirt and assist hooks.  It says max drag 5kg and jig weight to 150gr.  It has a full set of Fuji Sic guides.

Now I havent been jigging for demersals much and to be honest this stick is going to be interesting when a 10kg dhuie wants to powerdive home.  But I havent loaded it up to feel what it pulls like on a fish yet- hopefully that will happen friday or monday.  From what I can gather, people have landed some very good fish on thier PE2 rods so time will soon tell. Ive got it matched to a stradic 4000 with 20lb sunline PE at the moment.

Will take a couple of pics and put them up soon, in the mean time here is a link to the rod in action (I chose a red one not yellow coz red ones go faster ).

Very happy with the rods thus far and have stopped some big fish in tight terrain

They are a comfortable rod for me.

Gday damo, yep it feels and looks like a good rod.  Im just used to screwing the drag down and putting some hurt on things.  Patience with this lighter gear is going to be a learning process for me I reckon.

Hehe yeh man.  I asked Andrew if he would going to consider some nitro dedicated jig rods but when he mentioned they do these I grabbed one off him.  Hopefully tomorrow I can get something decent on it and send some pics across to him.
