Night fishing for Reds

Heading out to a mate shack off Dampier for a few days this weekend & depending on weather we could doing some night fishing out wide for Reds. After some advice whether we need to change our approach to targeting them from day to night fishing i.e different rigs, baits etc.

any help is appreciated, cheers

Found out years back that if fishing on a moonlit night to use black or swivels that were not shiny because barracuda and mackies bite them off.

Our best baits for Reds are fillets of Fusiliers, stripeys etc with the tail left on. We cut the rib cage off and usually only put the hook through the flesh up the head end twice (once if usign a circle hook). The tail flaps around nicely in the current and Reds love em.

You might find the sharks will be bad on a big moon.
