Hey roberta you might be able to save your PDF as a JPEG by opening it, going to the Adobe 'File' menu and go to 'Save as...' and you may be able to choose a different file type - JPEG will usually work OK...and then this should be able to be uploaded?

Cheers,
Ewan

Roberta i don't think you

Mon, 2009-08-03 17:47

Roberta i don't think you need your demersal licence until after mid december, because it will be banned until then (Dermesal fishing)i would suggest folks leave it to the last minute if you intend to get one, no point in giving your money sooner than nessary otherwise we will get Minster Moore gloating in the lead up to Christmas what a great revenue raiser it is.

Hi Shorty

Tue, 2009-08-04 10:02

we thought we'd need the $30 fishing license, so went in to talk to fisheries (as we are going to Leeman the end of next week) Bob thought better be sure than sorry as far as the $30 license (each)  No shorty we're not getting the Dermseral license till the 1st January 2010, why pay for something that you can't use for nearly 2 (but Bob thought also to ask question better to be safe than sorry)  months.  Xmas also in December, don't go to Leeman till after that so January will be the demersal fishing license

...if you're after the already existing licences (cray/ab/net/marron/fresh) get 'em now before they all get jacked up to $45 each!

That was online,

Mon, 2009-08-03 18:49

wasn't it Jamie? Time to go to the post office, or preferably fisheries, so you can confront an actual human being.Of course, by the time all the new legislation comes in effect in October, all communication will no doubt be via a call centre in India.

EDIT: Just read gilligan's (great user name BTW!) post and I smell something sinister here. Think about it. Cray and ab seasons aren't 'til November, marron in Feb. They could conceivably deny you the licence until the new fees come into effect. That's crap and I think anyone who wants all five (umbrella) should go in there and demand to get it because as far as I know the current fees are just that, CURRENT!

keep trying

Tue, 2009-08-04 20:37

I tried for a couple of hours last night to get it to load.
I have it in PDF tried rescanning to JPeg, TiF, and tried to copy to word and load, then I tried taking a snap shot of the page open in JPEG and inserting. None of these worked.
I did manage to attach one page from Jpeg but the quality was so poor I dumped it.... The other pages kept being refused because they were too big for the uplaod to the web site?

I'm thinking I'll take a photo of it tomorrow and try to load the picture?? Anyone else able to help.
cheers

Minister inundated

Mon, 2009-08-10 21:05

I got a reply for Ian Blaney in Geraldton, one of norms mates so he said bugger off and sent me the same letter norm did. but Albert Jacobs in Ocean Reef is "inundated" so that's gotta be good that they are being made to address the issue.

just an update and thanks to all for your help in getting this letter posted.
My screen doesn't give me the options? anyway
cheers

These letters should be

Mon, 2009-08-10 21:23

These letters should be ongoing, not flash in the pan. People should send the letters on a regular basis questioning issues such as why more isn't done such as addressing the pollution issues in our rivers and places like Cockburn sound.

Questions like, What are you going to do about the pollution like sewerage in the Swan?

http://www.fishingtaxgrab.com/ provides some letters etc. These well paid politicians and conservation groups obviously think you have heaps of time on your hands apart from keeping your job during the week.

Print letters off and get your mates to send them as well.

The standard letter reply from pollies is treatment with contempt. They obviously need the work so its about time recreational fishermen gave them something to do before they come up with something else.

Umbrella License

Tue, 2009-08-11 21:10

Guys, I went on line and got my umbrella license on Sunday.
I ticked the boxes on the fisheries application, it asked for my card number and then gave me a receipt and my gear number. I got Abs, Cray, net, fresh and marron from memory.

So until it's passed by Parliament the current conditions apply.

Keep writing to the politicians and keep them inundated...
cheer
