Northern Suburbs Beach/Rocks Advice - Tailor/Salmon

As SOR boy I have recently started to spend some time NOR as the new missus lives in Sorrento. The future highlight of the relationship is I now get to spend sometime fishing the NOR beaches/rocks.

Pretty keen on getting into the tailor/salmon. After some guidance on some spots places I am aware of are the blue hole at Trigg and the Hillarie's rock wall as a baseline.

Interested in also hearing some choice of lures for this area something around (40-60grams to suit rod) for tailor/salmon.

Cheers

40g raider is my go-to lure

40g raider is my go-to lure for tailor and as a backup I use gold twisties. These will get you anything from herring and snook to salmon and tailor with ease.

I picked up a few Salmon on

I picked up a few Salmon on a 40g Halco Twisty near Floreat on Tuesday morning. A little bit North of the drain, but not as far as the Tailor holes. Quite unexpected, I was just down there looking for some skippy or herring when the small school came past. Great fun morning, had the school to myself.

Always pays to keep a medium sized Twisty in the tackle box at this time of year even when you're fishing for bread and butter species.

if you can find one!

Hezzas can't resist them and they are the right size for something larger too.

 For tailor, I use chinese

For tailor, I use chinese made 40gm twistys as Halco's are too expensive for me. I have plenty to spare if anyone wants some. Minnow lures and homemade stickbaits work well too. Same lures for salmon. If we get same numbers of salmon as last year can expect them to go as far as Seabird at least. Yanchep lagoon will be very good to try for both tailor and salmon at this time of the year
