Hi guys lately I have not been catching fish on plastics.I am using un scented ones.Is this stoping me from catching fish

I have not had any joy lately using scented ones. much to the amusement of my buddies who have poked sh%t at the idea right from the first time i unzipped the first bag. but they do work.

mix it up try different types.. i can assure you that they do work. has accounted for some of the best fish i have caught to date

Mate, soft plastics are hard
Mate, soft plastics are hard work, no matter what anyone tells you. Bait is way easier and will probably catch more fish most of the time. If you go out with mates who are fishing bait and your on plastics, be prepared to be hosed up quite a bit until your technique is refined. Once you get the right technique, right plastic, righht colour and right weight for the conditions, plastics can definately outfish bait, but man, it takes quite a bit of practice.
The only way we started catching fish on plastics was to leave bait (and bait fisherman) at home.....it is just too demoralising watching the bait guys getting bites and catching fish while you sit there pumping away like an idiot......
It took me about 6 arvo sessions on 3 mile before I got my first pinky on plastic, I now have better success but still have plenty of poor days.....tide and bite time is critical, as you need the fish to be agressive before they will hit plastics with regularity.
Except for the odd session to break things up, we gave up bait quite a while ago, and am now catching more and better fish without bait. Just dont expect it to happen straight away.

Also being ontop of the fish helps, Most of the time im using SP's ill get hit on the drop. John pretty much hit the nail on the head tho, Try and try again and you will pretty quickly learn what works.
