Not a total waste of a morning

Headed out for a fish in the available weather window yesterday, I was hoping to get the first YTK on the deck of my boat... Things didn’t go quite to plan but had fun with the bycatch. Last trip I tried targeting KGW but the sambos were hungry.

nice fish. agree looks like an awesome rod, light gear?
just out of curiosity, when you target the YTK, what are you looking for, and what bait etc? I have never had one on the boat either but have been having a good crack!

Ground
I posted the rod details above and it’s paired with a 3000 Certate. To be honest I can’t really steer you in the rite direction in regards to ground. I was trying where I had got sambos before hoping that they would be in the same area, clearly that didn’t work haha. Will continue to try though :)
