Nullarbor travel

Hey crew,
I am looking for general ball park pricing and length of time it would take for one to drive from Melbourne to Perth towing a caravan.
We have a family that don't want to fly (their choice) to Perth but want to take their caravan. And I was wondering ballpark price for the fuel between the two cities.
I run/head a Foundation and are holding a family/medical conference in Perth next year and we are covering the travelling costs of the families, so I need a ball park figure so that our treasurer can budget for it.
Lets not make it too technical and assume a gentle drive not a "cannon ball express" with your average sized caravan and vehicle.
Thanks in advanced

use this to get prices....
petrolspy.com.au
I estimate:
Melb-Ad 1 day
Ad - Ceduna 1 long day...
Ceduna- border 1 long day...
border- Norseman - 1 long day...
Norseman- Perth 1 long day......
probably add 2 days for safety.. and tourism stops....
then there food and caravan park costs....
I reckon they are getting a really good holiday at your expense....
then they have to get home....

Thanks Dmck
Looks like a weeks drive.
Each to their own, if they want to do all that driving and pulling then power to them.
We are just paying fuel costs.

So many variable it's hard to
So many variable it's hard to give a close number, the type of car and the type of caravan can differentiate easily between getting 16L / 100km or getting 30L / 100km or anywhere in between.
a Toyota prado towing a pop top compared to V8 petrol cruiser towing a full size van etc etc
then add in who knows what the price of fuel will be in one year, could be $1.70/ L or $2.70/ L.
But as an average estimate
Melbourne to Perth is 3400km so 6800km return
Say you get 20L/ 100km towing going off your average vehicle & van said above.
If you get fuel at an estimated $2.10/ L for your trip you would use 1360 liters costing you $2855.99

Fuel was $2.60 a litre last week
Mate just drove over for his annual trip up north. the other major factor which impacts economy is wind, coming this way can easily destroy fuel economy if a strong westerly blowing

Fuel prices
MY - WA and SA both publish their fuel prices live on line, that should give you a strong idea of what prices are like. Check out our.raa.com.au/fuelprices and www.fuelwatch.wa.gov.au/ for more info.
