? NZ YTK's charters

Hi guys just wondering if anyone has chased Kingies in NZ.

My wife and I are going to be over there for first two weeks of September and are keen to do at least one days fishing. I saw a post on here about charters to Three Kings a while back but think it might be a bit too far north. The guys at Epic adventures look the goods and are close to where I will be at one stage. I will be spending a bit of time on both islands so could go from a number of different locations and it does not have to be chasing YTK'S if someone can suggest something better. Obviously I can't bring anything home so if I am fishing for a feed it would have to be pretty special, one way or another.

Look forward to your thoughts or reccomendation of good operators. Cheers Karl

the 3 kings is really a 5 day

the 3 kings is really a 5 day minimum trip so you'd be best going with a day trip. They still catch some big kings.

Try Memory Makers or Epic Adventures for trailer boat stuff, or Pursuit or Enchanter for a bigger boat day trip. I think they both will leave from Whakatane that time of year and probably hit White Island (30nm offshore). Rick on Pursuit will look after you no worries, he's a great operator.

I just got back yesterday from a trip out with these guys - 2 days of fishing, awesome results, great boat/gear and the skipper works super hard to get you on to some fish.

We booked through Ocean Blue - speak to David Noble - they organised the whole trip for us, we got picked up fom the jetty outside the hotel and everything was arranged for us - airport transfers, accommodation, etc.

Oh and as they say in the TV ads, 'tell them i sent you' :)

But as I recall it was the 3 Kings. Plus see the entry page for his Wreckfish.

I knew the fishwrecked crew would come through. That's one of the best things about this site so many people willing to help each other out. Thanks for the link Alan all those mentioned here get a lot of mentions. Funnily enough Ocean Blue was first one I found which led me to Epic. Thanks for all the suggestions, got a bit more research to do now.

Are you going to post up a report or pics Gus?

Your right Kane I reckon some back country brown or rainbow trout action just might get a Guernsey. Now got to find a good guide.
