Ocean Whaler 565

Wondering if any members have a Ocean Whaler 565 and would like to know how they have found it. I'm looking at different hulls for inshore work with the the occasional run out in fair weather.

Thanks,

the old man just bought a 2009 model a few months ago. got it ridiculously cheap at auction (deceased estate!). really good hull, stable as, but he is going to upgrade the motor, as it got a 50hp 4-stroke, and it moves alright, but revvin the fark outta the engine to go anywhere. he'll probably get a 90hp 2-stroke. rides pretty nicely, even with the smaller motor. only down side is probably the height of the sides. they're not as high as i like them, but it does have a higher floor too. still as stable a.a.f.

would almost be perfect for what you want me thinks.

My Mate owns them

My mate owns ocean whaler and builds them himself, I've seen them from go to whoa and they are a realy well bulit hull and he assures me the concerns in the lower gunnels height are more than compensated for in the stability and the ride is very smooth.

Great boats for the sort of stuff you'd want to do Bear. My missus' old man has one with a 90hp Etec and it gets up to a bit over 30knots.

Great Boat

Mate has one bullshit ride and stability for what it is! Something wrong with the missus old mans boat Broady.32knt with a 60hp two banger Merc bloody thing flys. Notbad offshore the low sides are a bit worying but never been a problem, low fuel capacity is their only real down fall.

Funny you say that Brody. My mate has the same boat and while it's awesome to fish from, it is a wet hull. thus my concern as we'd both like a change for the next Exxy trip.
