Old School Reels

Found these old school reels from my dad's pro fishing days in Exmouth.. Need some love and I plan to get them back in action, just so i don't have to buy a big game reel for out at the fads this season, unless these ones have packed it in. Hope not. The everol needs to be sent off to Sydney for a new plastic drag cover and some new drag washers.

Love old gear

Very sexy old gear there Adam.....They dont make gear like that any more

I have a all ali 1950's "Tailor" Reel made by S & S in Sydney my grand dad left me with a heap of other funky old gear. It is in good nick, the only reason I dont use it is because the reel foot is designed to match a rounded reel seat found on rangoon cane beach rods. I fitted it to an older Abu boat rod coz it holds a crap load of string, but it would turn and move in the reel seat.

I dont have a working camera at the moment so cant post pics, but I gather talking to some old salts the reel was quiet popular, so someone may have already seen them, and offer some more info, as I never got to talk to the old bloke about him using it

Old Stuff

Yeh, Know what you mean.. I only just started having a bit of a look through the old mans stuff the other day and was quite suprised to find some of the gear he had..  Haven't actually been through his fishing trunk which is still down south and i'm sure I'd find a tonne more gear that hasn't seen daylight in many a year.
