Open day

Had my ass flogged all day by my deckie . ( Peter) Last drift I managed to get a good bite. 50 lb braid light for me. Called it for stingray. On the last spiral prior to hitting surface. My circle came free. Lucky he was screwed. Other fish was a cracker also peters kgs where thumpers also black ass average. Many fish under sized. Many. Over(5 at 5) they all swam away.. cracker morn

Well done LJ. Sounds like it was a great day on the water. Dhuie  fillets all round with that one. I'm guessing around the 14 to 15 kg mark

Dropped a line over when pulling the pots.

Just out off the Blue Holes, nothing first drop, nailed on the second on the way down. Ran up, ran down, called it for a ***shark. First sight seemed to confirm it, then realised it was an XOS Cobia. Pinned it through the jaw, took a pic, back it went. Then got a mackerel on the troll later on. Got 4 to the boat, actually, only got one over the side.

I just locked up on it on a T-curve 400 and 8000 saragosa with 50lb J-braid when I thought it was a shark. Not as good eating as LJ's dhus( the ones that make it to the fridge, that is ) Weather was brilliant up here for weeks, with just the odd windy day. Not as hot as Perth, either. All over now though, it'll  blow until Xmas day.
