opinion on older outboard

looking for opinions on a 115 hp johnson v4 motor aprox 20 years old and done 500 hours sitting on a 20 ft fraser
boat doesnt look too bad but not farmiliar with these motors

Gear box was the issue on
Gear box was the issue on ours the same age. $4500 to rebuild so we repowered

depends on the price
Underpowerd and Thirsty, find out what it is worth as a trade in. Depending on your financial position it might be better to trade in while it is still going or just run it till it stops cheers Ace
