Opinions on versatile soft plastics rod for inshore work

Hi guys,

I'm hoping to get some opinions on a versatile spin rod for inshore work. I only have a small boat so rod real estate is at a premium.

It's main job will be soft plastics for snapper from 10 - 20m, I have a eupro twincraft PE 1-3 for anything heavier/deeper.

However, i want to be able to put a rig for skippy or whiting on with a 1 or 2 oz snapper lead or even chuck a squid jig on the end.

I'm thinking of something in possibly the 4-6kg with a budget of $200 max. Atm thinking about the Fishing WA 4-6kg stick.

So if anyone has any suggestions let me know.

Steve

I actually dont mind the look of the storm rods... Reading through your thread gilly i'd have to agree about cork grips... I wonder how the red grip .8-1.5 would go with a 2oz sinker bouncing off the bottom of it?

Bit more than your budget but

Bit more than your budget but I recently got a Majorcraft Crostage Spin Offshore 7' PE1-2 that I got from Tackle HQ for 250 I think. Use for inshore plastics and casting stickbaits etc. Nice long butt and more of a regular taper than most 7 footers which makes fightn fish under the boat a treat. Happy with it so far, some pics of it loaded up here

I actually hadn't thought about casting too much.. I guess the extra length in a 7ft would be a benefit there... Haha, unfortunately tim the only time I see a bend in my rod lately is when I snag the bottom!!

Im guna spend more time casting at reefs lookin for big tailor and hunting for kings in the coming months. Seen a toona jumpin out in the 30s on thursday arvo so I will be after them too. I like to have versatility in my combos and that combo is perfect for placcys, stickbaits, light jigging and small bait rigs, will be trolling xrap 15s and little skirts with it too

Good all rounder as can use for dhuies / snaps offshore also. If you're purely using inshore go the 4-6kg one
