Andy a mate of mine recently
Andy a mate of mine recently finished a very simple and weather resistant outside bar. He bought two empty wooden wine barrels. Rubbed them back, painted the steel bands black and varnished the wood. He then picked up a cheap slab of hardwood from the annual wood show about 7' long and 2' wide and 2" thick.
Rubbed that back and used a filler varnish to give it a great flat gloss top. Just the weight of the bar top sitting on one wine barrel at each end was enough to keep it in place and it looked really good. To fill the gap underneath and keeping with the rustic look i suggested he should get some small profile tin and fix it across the front.
Simple idea and looks good. Could always build a hut over it??

i think a rustick look would
i think a rustick look would suit an outside bar, go down to your local recycling yard and have a look at what is around , recycled bricks with a few old jarrah floor boards for the top and shelves. all you need to do with the floor boards is oil them every now and then and they should last ages out in the weather

Place to put it
side of house thinking of matching the brick work to the house and putting a hardwood top on to match the nearby spa. Looking to incorporate sliding lock up cabinets below and room for two mini bar fridges one with a built in keg tap arangement the other for softies and stubbies etc
bar sink to be plumbed above the bar fridges and a shallower bar under the top bar. Finish with a balinese top with downlights and overhead glass racks.
