As you are aware, it can get quite hairy very quickly down there. So dont take any un-necessary risks, and be sure to log in with sea-rescue (say hi to Russ if he is on duty).

Just launch from the "ramp" on the main beach, head out through the markers. We found some good ground about a mile out from rame head in about 40m or so, caught a shedload of red snapper (small lumps, they rise from ~40m up to ~38m). There is plenty of ground out there, it's not very hard - just sound around.

Lucky you glancy! Do you live in peaceful? I grew up in walpole and have many memories of peaceful bay. Can't say I've ever fished in a boat out of there tho, but I have heard theres some good ground around. Do you have a good gps/sounder on your new boat? I'm sure it shouldn't be too hard to find some decant fish around, it's prime down there! Hoping to spend a week out of walpole in a month or 2 doing some fishin! Make sure you send us some reports when you get out and about in the new boat!

Hey mate nah dont live down there but have a hut down there so go down a fair bit. We have a navman gps and lowrance sounder which goes ok. Might have to upgrade to colour. Been out a few times since ive had the boat but usually go straight out or to the left and usually get a few red snapper and queen snapper. Been meaning to go out to the right but not sure where to go so might just search around. But ill keep you posted on how i go.

I have spent plenty of time off Walpole, most of the time going strait out or west, there is plenty of good ground out there. Last time down there went to Rams Head and fished some ledges we found in about 30m. Got the usual suspects Dhus, Pinkies, Red snapper and black ass. Rams head is about 8-10 nm from peaceful bay.
