Peak Sports Fishing

managed to get some time away from work so took on a 3000 odd km road trip down to Exmouth, Eddy from Peak managed to get a day out on the water for me with my specific hit list of a GT on a special lure and test out some rods for casting,

For some reason I always seem to cop the bad weather, WA windy always lived up to its reputation turning up the breeze for me..

a lot of hard work but we found where the Gs were hiding and the old broken elbow held up to some GT fight time,, spewing i dropped a good cobia that I had to tease with the lure to get him to bite and only to lose it at the boat.

after the fight with the Gs the elbow had enough, and i asked Eddy what were the chances of getting a Ruby?

the dredlocked man just smiled and said no problem,

we motored out to the grounds where a couple of boats were giving the bottom a bit of a bash, we found our spot and away we dropped on the electric hit bottom nibble nibble kick it into gear and we are on, a bit of winding to assist the electric and up pops the target fish , a beauty of a ruby.

it is a real shame these fish cannot be released, they are a beatiful fish.

anyhow here are some pics.

cheers syd

will'post up the landbased later

Those Ruby Snapper sure are nice looking fish. I've gotta get me one of those one day. How was it on the tooth? I've heard varying reports. Does it fit the red is dead expression with respect to eating quality?

What depth do you catch them at and what type of bottom you looking for.
