peeling paint

Dear friends,
I have just purchased a new MAKO craft, made by the stessl company. There was no warranty on the paint job on the boat as the company used a so called pre-primer mixed in with the paint and it didnt work.Hence the paint has started to peel off in patches, this doesnt worry me as got the boat $3k chaeaper.
What I would like to know from all you wise men is if I use a paint stripper to get the rest off, will this effect the aluminium?
Many thanks.
Ralph

If its peeling of easy with your finger nail?? I would try a good pressure cleaner first then paint stripper last

thats the reason
there is always problems with paint on boats eventually , that's why I ordered mine in raw ali like paul said get a pressure cleaner and blast it of , just don't do it at home as you will have paint flakes for years to come do it at your worst best mates place haha

No it won't effect the
No it won't effect the aluminium , I done mine a few years back had about 4 layers of old paint , a couple of days work . Lay it on fairly thick in say 1m sq sections put gladwrap over it to extend it's effectiveness if the timings right it will be bubbled up and the majority will come off with the wrap . Keep reapplying as needed , any stubborn spots use a plastic scraper . Just don't use a wire brush or steel wool . Then wash it down with detergent if your going to keep it bear metal Alibrite brings it up nice .
