Penguin island.

Thinking of possibly taking the kids to Penguin Island this weekend.
Do you know if you are allowed to land boats on the island, or is it purely walk the bar or ferry?
Wouldnt mind taking the boat so I can get a fish in too.

wouldnt walk the bar with kids, last time i did the tide had come up when we were walking back and it was up to my chest and a little hairy, pun intended. I dont know about the boating side of things but i dont think ive ever seen anyone pulled up on the beach there (east/landward side), and the west side is all reef.

certainly wouldnt walk across the sand bar with the kids mate, been there hundreds of times and its atleast waist to chest deep most of the time.. there is know problem with taking the boat to the front of the island and its all sand, the back is pretty much all reef so fronts the go.. i have seen a few boats been taken over there.
