Hey are you staying at
Hey are you staying at Pepperment Grove Echo park or something there is a little river really little but it goes quite a bit up river. i managed to catch 1.2kg Black Bream in there at a little spot i found ;) but there is lots of red perch their too. Im not sure if this is right but their are some locals (aboriginals) and they welcome hand feed big stingrays like really nig stingrays, so try avoid chasing sharks etc. as you may catch one of the stingrays and i dnt think they will be too happy about it.
Have a Great time down there and all those little streams you cross, give them ago imagine whats living in there....

Hey mate! What i mean is
Hey mate! What i mean is there is a long road which goes along the coast. that road u use to turn into pepperment grove etc. and other places. there are little streams about 10- 15m across and they connect to the ocean. sorry if this doesnt make sense... just look on google earth and type in pepperment grove etc. and you will see streams etc.

I think it might still be
I think it might still be too early for Salmon, but you just never know. Yes Tailor are often about and Mullas in the dark hours. Plenty of Herring, Skippy and Sand Whiting as well.
Yep! all along that coast you have to contend with Stingrays as well.
Some very good fishing for top species offshore from there also.

great info guys
I'm stayin at Peppy Grove Beach over easter and i'll have the kayak with me, so i might have to scope out a couple of those streams you were talking about Diehard haha.
Last year i was down in Pemberton and cleaned up on Redfin with those scented Gladiator Smashbait SP's (red with cream tail) out of Big Brook Dam. I think use the same placcies this time in the Capel.
Feral, roughly how far out is this reef you were talking about? Do you reckon it's kayakable?

Heading down there this week..(without the boat) - does anybody know how far you would have to go out to drop the cray pots? - and any good areas for fishing?

Hi ozhogg, there is plenty
Hi ozhogg, there is plenty of reef all along the stretch you'll be. generally we call the area north of the Capel River mouth as the 'Huts' and if you have a 4WD you will see all the reef right up to the beach. Not sure if the crays are in close yet, but you can certainly snorkel out for them or throw a pot off them.
Think about catching up with a few more members as it's Damo6230's farewell comp. this weekend and the weather at this stage is looking ok. See FW front page. Even if you don't have your boat, it is still a good opportunity to meet some members.
