Tournament

Wed, 2017-01-11 13:49

It would be good to see some Fishwrecked members who are looking to fish Gamex join us and possibly use this as an opportunity to get your gear fine tuned before you head north.
If you are already a member of a GFAA or WAGFA affiliated club you do not need to join PGFC to participate.

The Trench regularly provides good billfish action and with most tournaments held out there the results improve with a higher number of boats on the water.
While it is a competition you will find it is a great bunch of people working together to find some of these fast fish in our local waters.

If you have any questions please feel free to contact Shane (resurgence on here) or myself

Regards

Tim

Gamex

Wed, 2017-01-11 22:46

We generally have members and boats head up to Gamex. Many of our members are also members up there.
It is a hard time of year for comps especially in Perth as we dont have the length of season the clubs up north do and really live or die by the strength of the current and water temps.
With Marlin Cup, BlueMarlin Classic, Abrohlos and WA Open all trying to fit into about 6-8 week season down south, AIBT and Gamex up north in that same time period its a busy time of year for everyone.
I must say that I am seeing some good conversations between all clubs on how we can work together and help each other promote gamefishing together as the great sport and skill that it is.

Incentive for new members

Tue, 2017-01-24 21:01

We have a great offer going at the moment.  If you join PGFC to fish the Marlin Cup or WA Open (at Jurien Bay in April) we will waive the normal $130 nomination fee.

There are also some great prizes for ladies and juniors in the Marlin Cup if they are looking for a challenge.

Gday crew.

I emailed the club a while back about some info on this comp with no reply :(

For out of town crew that are thinking of coming down, how hard is  it to find somewhere to sleep and safely park the boat overnight?

Sounds like it was pretty

Mon, 2017-02-13 18:52

Sounds like it was pretty ordinary out there both days.

Any news on the poor bugger that had to be choppered out?

Lots of miles covered for 1 fish tagged. And congrats to him

Surprised it wasn't called off. The wind just never let up
