I voted for the barra also. Anyone who can find let alone catch a meter barra in a Queensland river deserves a prize.

Metro bauldies especially at
Metro bauldies especially at that size are pretty rare, so I think a deserving winner, the barra was awesome aswell and could have gone either way.

Thankyou to all my competitors and all those who voted for me. And last but not least I would like to thank my partner for her support and encouragement in following my dreams.
It was a ripper day, a fish to remember and now a sweet but close victory to top it all off!

Quote Jay that was a cracker
Quote
Jay that was a cracker baldie and I personally have never seen one bigger!
I have no doubt that a baldie of that size is less common than a 90-100cm barra.
Maybe that the pic doesn't quite do it justice!
I know of a few die hard site members who are still to catch a baldie let alone break 6kgs!
Your right any baldie of that size is rare today. For a fish that gets to 25kg thats frightening.
Everyone cries about dhuies but we still see them thru all sizes up to 25kg every year.
There is no big baldies left. Seen them over 10kgs at Bernier Island but as big as I've seen.
Spoke to my orange hat wearing mates' father, an ex pro fisherman at the Abrohlis, and he tells me that he has speared big baldies of 50/60 lb back in the sixties, early seventies.

That would be awesome 25kg's
That would be awesome 25kg's worth of bauldie, Never new that got that size, down metro waters they are only encountered every so often, and adverage would be a couple of kg's.
