Picnic Swan River

G'day,
I'm looking at taking the missus and son (one year old) for a picnic and a cruise up the swan river tomorrow. After reading some previous posts I'm thinking of launching from Maylands and heading up towards Guilford and possibly further depending on the little fella. I was wondering if anyone could recommend or give me any info on some picnic areas up the river I might be able to pull up to or info on some public moorings.
Also is it worth bringing a rod along or is it still to early for the bream to be back up the river.
Cheers

G'day mate,Garvey Park in
G'day mate,
Garvey Park in redcliffe is a great spot to pull up and have a picnic, there's a great little beach to land the boat and barbecues and a great play area for little ones.
If you want to head a little further upstream you can stop at sandy beach in Bassendean or up past guildford there's some nice little parks where you can pull in also. I'd definitely take a rod as there's always bream in the river up there too.

This place is the go mate. Nice shade for a picnic and the best playground in Perth, your 1 year old will love it!

Ended up putting the boat in at maylands and headed up to Garvey park for lunch. Had a great day with the family and I'm in the good books with the missus so thanks again
