Pilbara Creek Surprise

Hi All

Been fishing the creeks a heap lately catching some cracker Mangrove Jacks, Threadies etc. It's been a while since my last post so thought I would share a couple of pics.

Came across a SURPRISE while sounding around a local creek yesterday. I've been playing around with the Structure Scan and it's starting to pay dividends as you will see.

The surprise was a large school of fish sitting out of the current behind a rock bar. What were they, we will get to that later.

Below is a screen shot explaining what you're looking at. Notice that you can see individual fish

The thing is I doubt that I would have seen this without the Structure Scan due to current etc

Below are a couple of shots showing difference between normal and Structure Scan

Well what were they, this is the SURPRISE. They were a large school of small Black Jew (see pic below). Was hoping to get through them to find some bigger ones but no chance as they were on the chew. Had a couple of massive runs but no hook up

Couple of other shots

Been trying to get some action shots....Just missed it :(

Sort of, the middle line is surface. Its shows a scan to to bottom then a side scan. check out the link below and see if that helps.

I love being up here but its not for everyone. Fishing is great but being stuck in a creek full of sandflys on a 40+deg day can break anyone.

Sounders a simrad NSS 12. Very happy with it

Great example

Great example of the side scan, never really understood it until recently. Missing the creek action this year, blue water will have to suffice for the time being.
