They've started catching
They've started catching them along the rock groynes, so there would be some in the sound, but I think it'll be a little bit longer before they're a lot more regular? Someone actually knowledgable might be able to let you know the details :p
Best eating fish in my books though, so good luck :)
(and just to edit: mainly wishing luck rather than offering sound advice (pun partially intended), just to stop otherwise inevitable offtopic cluttering from people miscontruing my post)

info!
Pinkys started coming into the Sound when we had those big storm fronts in May/June!
Early morning, high tide and in the shallow coral grounds is likely. Some of the eastern jettys being another good spot....just harder to stop!
All the best!

No probs mate, you can fish sunset but you'll be fishing the low. The high is better but the low still produces with a feed period happening on and before sunset normally. This chew can be quick and the full moon normally doesn't do too many favours!
Your only chasin a feed so it's worth it. The key is to move around and find fish. When all else fails then try area's that hold some fish/look fishy and burley up a bit. Trying 2 different spots in a late arvo/evening session works also!
I'd be fishing/lines in water 3-7pm if it was me,all the best!
PM me if you have more questions!

Thats for that,Big John got most of your info and technic some time ago and we had excellent results,I realise that matching the sunset with high tide is the go,its a bit cold in the mornings.

same!
Yeh fully agree, i'm not a fan of chasin pink snapper in the mornings let alone bloody COLD ones!
I prefer arvo/evening and the beers go down better

I've had some success at the back of G Island, good to shelter there from the easterlies, find a lump and burly and they will come, this is probably better later on in the year.look forward to your feed back
