Evening all
Every one has fishing secrets and info.
I have fished many times in the sound for pinkys and gone home with jack shit!
Whats the best rigs and bait etc to use to catch that dream big pinky???
What have you had success with when it comes to the humble pinky.

I do well in late Feb
I do well in late Feb through to May on a particular jetty any time of the day in a small tiny but you have to sneek in there you can see them feeding on the pilons I use and unwaited yellow tail and 300ld hand line and still get pinged

that jetty
ive been at that jetty one time done really well. watched some guys hooked up to a pipe in two spots so they could get in close and al of a sudden we heard a crack then another on and the pipe they where tied to fell down and hit the side of the boat. luckily it was ali but it shook them up. he he he he he otherwise rod rat head out into the pack with a lighty weighted mulie or yellow tail a you should at least get one. it really isnt that hard.

time!
The pinks Rodrat will stay around for a while but they get harder than say at the beggining of the season and if you spend the time you'll get amoungst them. Late arvo with a sundown and a hight tide is the go, if your staying into darkness the new moon is better also.
I use a whole scaly mackerel with two 6/0 chem sharp hooks and a metre of 80lb mono trace line and a small ball sinker to get it down.
I fish around lumps and structure and the key is to think about where they would hang and why are they there!.....move around and soon you'll see a pattern!
All the best, PM me if you need anymore info!
