Port Gregory

Finally got up to Port Gregory for a fish last weekend. Just 2 of us with a 5.4M Quintrex which turned out to be a very easy beach launch. We stayed in one of the cabins at the caravan park which was perfect.
This fishing definitely matched expectations with Dhufish, baldchin groper, pink snapper, red throat, loads of coral trout, Samson fish, skippy, various norwest snapper and a surprise yellowtail kingfish ( well ok, half a kingfish). 95% of fish caught on jigs and soft plastics. Great spot if the weather is good.

Nice spot
But some if the locals aren't too friendly!!
when we went a couple of years ago I think the locals are of the opinion that they don't like visitors and just want to be left to their own devices. If and when you needed any sort of assistance in town they were quick to make sure it would cost you dearly (things liking helping to pull you out of being bogged)

Beach
Beach was fine. Not washed out. Hard sand and minimal weed.

Advice
Hey GillyL and Ale- we went around 1k north to get out then headed south and just fished the series of lumps that are marked on the charts. There is heaps of other areas that I'm sure would fish well. Inside the reef would probably fish well with some burley.

did you launch on high or low
did you launch on high or low tide?
Is the beach shallow or enough slope to launch a bigger boat?

Low tide
Hi Rob
i pulled my boat out just after lunch on Thursday and had to disconnect the trailor from the car and use the drop down wheel. The sand had changed a lot from the weekend and being a low tide I basically had to winch the trailor under the boat... Not fun
