port jackson sharks

found my fisheries book today and was looking and the protected species list, i have always released port jackson sharks as i thort they where protected but there was nothing at all in the book about them?

they are only protected on the east coast, most reports say they a horrible eating anyways!
but i do remember reading somewere that they were excellent eating after the hassale of cleaning them, interesting to hear if anyone has tried?

Agree with Paul there are plenty of tasty fish in the sea why would you want to kill one of these.

they are a good looking fish,
they are a good looking fish, i dont think id ever keep one to eat thou. tough little buggers and imagine they would taste fairly "rich"

We caught heaps behind garden island, they don't even put up a fight, these were big buggers aswell, 5 big ones in about 20mins..
