Power Knobs.

Hi fellow members,

I just recently purchased two power knobs off the internet and I've just recieved them today in the post. I was just wondering if anyone out that has had these power knobs and have done a DIY with placing them on your reel handle? Is there a simple way of doing this?

Kind regards,

E.D.

Not sure about yours, but

Not sure about yours, but one aftermarket handle I fitted to a Daiwa Saltist went like this.

1) Unscrew the old handle from the shaft

2) Put the shaft into a vice.

3) Every so carefully, pin punch the centre of the shaft where it goes through the handle.

4) Using a drill bit at least a milimetre smaller than the shaft, drill it out.

5) Try and wiggle the handle off the shaft.

6)  If it doesn't wiggle off, then use a bigger drill bit.

7) Rinse, repeat

Once the shaft comes off, clean it up a little and then screw the replacement one in.

What reel and handle did you buy Elora?

Many of them are a lot simpler than that, like dead easy.

Why won't the handle come

Why won't the handle come off? Usually there is a cap over a screw inside it, can't get to that? If you can. you can buy a genuine replacement one and forgo the pain of drilling the handle out etc.

Im unfamiliar with the TOMMAN brand Elora but many of the knobs take about 5 minutes to fit and in some cases the tackleshop will fit them in front of you for no extra charge.
