I've got the same boat you
I've got the same boat you mention Milsey, great boat. 'Least worst Ali boat' my fibreglass owning mates say. I've had it out in some pretty horrendous conditions and it has never faulted or felt like it was out of its depth.
A couple of things for your mate to consider,
1. Get the double step (chime) in the bow - this will redirect most of the spray down, without it they can wear a bit of water on the windscreen
2. Live bait tank size and position (I took out the sink that was in the transom and made a 2nd livie tank)
3. Separate deck wash/live bait pumps. $280 jabsco x 3 in 12 months or $25 rule pump x probably 5 in 7 years
4. 2 x transducer/pump mounting brackets, ie 1 on either side.
5. Twin engines......unless your in the Kimberley's! Haha, I've said previously twin 150's makes a difference, but I've got a single 250 4st yammy and it has performed flawlessly for every one of its 1475hrs, and that has included some long range trips with substantial weight on board ~ 4t+ on the water with no problems.
6. Glove box size, needs to be bigger.
PM me if you need any more info, they are great boats and I cannot speak highly enough of them....for an Ali of course!

PS, I haven't forgotten you Vinesh, I'll get onto it soon!

I actually got to have a good look at a 7.85 the other day with a single 350 what a machine, and attention to detail and welds look really good!!

yep i can vouch for that. Damo has fitted his out very well, with a 300 on the rear she'd be a beast but the 250hp does a very impressive job, just not as fast as my Cruisecraft and it does ride well for a Ali beast. I wouldn't hesitate in owning one if i was in the market again if the right one came up.
