Pulling knots tight with your teeth

Anyone heard of or had any dental issues caused by pulling knots tight with your teeth? Seems to be a convenient way of securing knots but know it can't be good on them

 I've got a chipped tooth

I've got a chipped tooth which is perfect as a line snip hhahha dunno how good it is for my teeth tho

is a good question,! Shouldn't be too bad? Suppose we get better at tieing them so we tie less and less as we get older to an extent....

I don't use braid so I don't know of braid would be worse?

Two hands

Don't see any need to use your teeth to pull a knot tight when all you need is a bit of spit and two hands.

Biting line off is a good way to chip your teeth and is not recommended

Probably not good for your teeth and certianly wouldn't recommend it with braid

10 out of 10 dentists recommend against it :-)

This is uncanny....

I dreamt last night that I damaged my tooth biting line.....  My tooth fell out and the "roots" turned into a 10 inch squid tentacle.

Bite the tag end of mono or fluoro with my molars, wrap my hand in my shirt then wrap the braid around my hand. I like my knots tight and braid to leader knots need to be slim

I'm guilty of it....

Keep trying to avoid it by having line nippers on me at all time, but still find myself doing it and telling myself off....

I do it all the time too but i should probably stop.

If your teeth are in pretty good nick I reckon you'd be ok, but as others have said it's probably best to avoid.

What do you think MattMiller? Pretty risky?? Haha!

HAHA,

yeah, pretty risky. Guilty of this myself. Chipped the front of my 1 of my front teeth pulling a braid join tight.

Not sure if it was the quality of my teeth in question or the sharpness of braid that did the damage.
