Have a few friends up there
Have a few friends up there and they are doing it tough though luckily none of my friends have been flooded out of their houses (just lots of mud and constantly washing clothes/floors etc)
From what I have read the flooding actually has a short term effect on the fishery and it bounces back reasonably quickly. They may experience some fish kills in close as the salt water fish are unable to cope with the influx of fresh water. It also flushes a lot of nutrients out which for one stimulates the prawns to breed/come back in masses. This feeds down the food chain pretty quickly and helps re populate areas hit by the fresh. Going to Noosa in mid may and hoping to cast a few lures around etc. Hopefully will be a few fish still around.
