Quobba ballooning july 16-23rd
Submitted by Kris on Sat, 2011-07-23 17:11
Hey just got back from Quobba.
Arrived Saturday morning with plans to balloon all week.
Fishing was really quiet as far as ballooning and spinning. Only saw one other Mackeral at the table all week.
After a lot off effort i was lucky enough to get 2 over the week. One being my pb.
Did see a lot of nice bottom fish get landed by others at the station.
Hope you like the photo's.

Water
Was up there Sunday arvo and it looked pretty clean though with the bigger swell coming this week it will stir up the silt from the floods agin and turn brown .

No problems, If you are heading to Quobba you shouldn't have too much dirty water. Most of it occurs south of the Blowholes and right down towards Point Peron where the river outflows dropped most of the silt from the floods. When we get a bit of a ground swell in the bay it stirs up the botom which is a big problem for those who like to fish the channels and cannot see them for the brown water.
It caused a few fish to die on the last big run of brown water causing their gills to clog up with muck but has since cleaned up.
