Quobba - jigging success?
Submitted by mikegonefishing on Thu, 2015-08-06 10:51
Hi Guys,
Fairly new to the forum.
Most of my fishing experience is land based.
Anyway, heading up to Quobba in November for some Sharkie spinning and bottom fishing.
I was thinking high rock could be a good spot to try some jigging although I've got zero experience in this.
I'm wondering if anybody has had success jigging up at Quobba?
And could you point me towards what sort of jigs and gear I should be looking at?
Cheers
Happy Fishing

Soft Plastics
Had no luck with jigging but some success with soft plastics. Cast out let drop and slow retrieve stopping along the way to let it drop down again. Caught jacks, spanglies and trevally.
A lot of reef so might loose a lot of gear jigging.
Mostly bait fish with ball sinker rig

Thanks
Ok thanks Iceman. Yeah the attrition rate at Quobba is high! Yeah last time we did mostly bait fishing along the bottom. I'm just keen to try new things when I'm up there. I cannot wait!
Cheers Sammy, I'll drop him a bell.

We have done well sore
We have done well sore jigging before on demersals and we also came up with way to be able to shore jig for Mack's with wire leaders and assists to suit that won't effect a jigs action to much. Snapper, spangos, dark tailed perch, Spanish, sharkies, all kinds of trevs and more we have had success with
always looking for a new challenge!!
