Ray marine e80 sounder issues
Submitted by sammy85 on Tue, 2013-03-19 19:48
Have been having some sounder issues in my new boat. Recently went to exmouth but previously was working all the time. It's is s 24' glass yank boat with a thru hull airmar 600w tranny. It works intermittently normally at 20knots but not at rest or trolling speed. I have no idea about boat electronics but hoping it might just be a loose connection or something. Any ideas??
Cheers Sammy

Check the transducer
Check the transducer connection, but also the DSM sounder unit as these are not that reliable.....

Hey SammyAs John said check
Hey Sammy
As John said check the connections and that power is getting to the DSM. On the unit there will be two inicator lights Check that they are both green. Not sure what year yours is BUT there were issues with the DSM 300 around 2008-2011 from memory. the other thing to try is to ensure your software is up to date. Give Raymarine in Sydney a call they are usually pretty helpful.
