Recommend glass repairer - Broke the bowsprit

Yesterday I had the anchor jam and while driving towards it and winching up some rope a larger than normal wave overloaded the bowsprit and it cracked and pinged one of the studs off the bow rail mount. It has probably taken a bit too much load from the anchor winch on too many ocassions.

Anyway long story short, I'm looking for recommendations on good glass repair business North of river. I can and probably will repair/strengthen this myself to save costs but I will probably need help with the gel coat. I want an exact colour match and the finished product to look OEM.

Any recommendations appreciated.

 Cruise craft...
Ive often looked at mine also and thought it could be designed stronger

A point to note also though, is that freeing up anchor that way can have disasterous unexpected consequences.

If you have a plastic toy boat from your kids, float it and push down on the bow.
Stability disapears rapidly as the bow goes down and stern up, usually from a sudden swell and it will roll very suddenly

Yes, its part of my learning curve. I think I need to get younger crew who can run to the bow and quickly change the anchor from plow to pick . It's frustrating when anchoring on sand and rock alternately. The plow works in both but is prone to jamming in rock.

I'm going to look at setting up some mounting options on the bow rail that can accomodate the plow and pick so that there is less excuse for not dropping the correct anchor..

I will be laying quite a bit more glass underneath this time, it would be much easier to do this in advance than to have to repair all the layers and gel coat.

Might be worth thinking about for cruise craft owners using winches...

Plough anchor

best way to get a plough anchor out on sand or rock is to drive over the anchor with a little slack line.  Then winch the shackle will run to the front of the anchor and lift it out from front rather from pulling from the back. Hope that makes sence.
