Good Work

Fri, 2008-10-31 07:15

Great photos Feral. Yet another year goes by and I won't be able to make it to the race. The photos are awesome though, lets hope they come back next year.

Three days without it and I get a little jumpy

Roulettes

Fri, 2008-10-31 07:19

The red and white planes flying in formation would have been the Roulettes.  They are the acrobatics team of the Aust Defence Force.

Did anyone hear the jets flying over perth last night?  They were buzzing around for a fair while.  I love that sound.  I worked on a naval base (building new buildings there) where the Kiwi A4 jets were based in Nowra, man those things sound so awesome.  Flying in a fighter jet would hav eot be the most awesome experience.

Yes I heard them and thought the Airports were busy last night, then I thoght they are a bit loud for domestic travel, yes fell asleep listening to the jets. Love them also.  Driving up the brand higway last year and windows down, we heard this ssssss noise, looked to our left and this RAAF jet would have been flying 500 feet off the ground and fly right across us on the highway.  Old truckie had to stop as he thought we had a flat tyre but it was just the noise of the might airforce jet flying past us, as I'm typing this I can hear them again.

Yes thought they might have been the roulettes and 6 flew over about 3 hrs later as well, nice sound of the planes are they turbo/propellor jets?

they have signed up for another 3 years , But as the next race in the series was meant to be held in perth with in the six months from saturday they ( Perth Hierachy ) have decided that in six months it would be to close and have let out the next race into another state thus in 18 months from now not a year they will be back , thanks perth council .

change it up

Fri, 2008-10-31 08:48

Is it still the same course?  I really think they need to change it up a bit and make it different each year, otherwise it becomes repetitive and a bit boring.  Still can't believe they got rid of Rally Australia, talk about retarded!

Agree

I agree with you Adam!

Went the 1st year and it was awesome! Went the 2nd year and it started to feel like Skyworks night...(You can't do this and you can't do that...etc) Also the 2nd year felt to me as though it was repeditive as well.

Don't get me wrong! It's an awesome event to see live!...once! after that I'd prefer to watch it on TV after I've filleted my fish!

Sat, 2008-11-01 13:30

Ill post up a few more from the north mole tday , saturday is qualifying . But at the north mole you can watch for free they have closed from the disabled platform so anyone can see the plane and the gates from about 20 metres away . I would have hated to pay today as their was a problem with the timing and the planes were doing acrobatics at the mole waiting

Hi Ya, I know it is all

Wed, 2008-11-05 19:54

Hi Ya,

I know it is all over and done with now but (as far as I know) you only had to buy tickets if you wanted to sit in the grandstand.  It was free every where else.

Sunday tickets were more expensive as it was the race day.  Saturday was qualifying only.

Cheers.
