Reef fishing

Here's some recent fish taken on shallow 7m reefs off my local breakwater. I've been dropping Lures and baits over these reefs and got a mixed bag. The wrasse have really taken to bream lures up to 3" and are a good fight on light gear.

Good stuff young fella
Looks like ya having a good bit of success. That last one looks to be one of the spiny variety (scorpion fish)
Old fishermen never die they just smell that way.

yeah good on you mate, good way to learn and good fun also. If you can find some big buff bream , you can have some fun with them also

Well we get zebra fish down
Well we get zebra fish down here , not buff bream, absolute power houses and I catch them on worm plastics and prawns like the wrasse. They just go back to the cave once hooked too! At port fairy I catch them, but I do watch out for some giant wrasse which will snatch it away! The zebras behave like the buff bream (really shy but strong), but when they are on I have had them steal baits off Leatherjackets!
