Reminder on Fishwrecked site rules

Hi Guys/Girls,

Theres been a few recent incidents where people have been getting a little heated and going past the point of discussion to attacking the man, not the issue.  Sure some topics are going to get fired up with differing opinions, but please be respectful of other members as they have their reasons behind what they say.

The recent electric reels 'debate' is one example and one I will be extremely harsh from here on in with zero tolerance for personal attacks or behind the scenes PM's threatening people.

Below are the site rules, if you are found in breach of them I reserve the right to remove your account.  This is a family and friendly site and I will ensure it is maintained as such.

Cheers,

Adam

Online threats of violence

Mon, 2009-09-14 20:36

Online threats of violence can be taken very seriously, and so they should be.

I know for a fact that police can be notified of any online threats or slander, then track the offenders IP address(the sequence of numbers your computer uses to get on the internet), go to the ISP (internet provider company) and find out where you logged on from, then pay you a visit.

I have heard about a case where police were notified of a bomb threat made to a Perth company, which they tracked down to a kid who was using his school computer.  BUSTED!

Another one I heard of was police tracking down a local idiot posting racist material on online forums.  BUSTED!

Slander is another one to watch out for.  Publicly bagging someone or a company can get you in hot water if they decide to follow it up.

spot on PJAY, as far as im concerned you can get your point across without having a personal attack on someone, there is no need for it at all . everyone has a right to their own opinion and shouldnt cop shit for it, this site is a great one for tips , storys , pics and just general info , so lets all just keep it that way as we dont want it to go down the gurglar,
