Restoring weathered boat canopy clears?
Submitted by mjohns on Tue, 2014-04-15 17:49
Anybody have any ideas on how to clear boat clears that have been in the sun for a long time?
Bubbled and burnt around some edges, and can no longer see through them?
Not looking to get them perfect but a bit of vision through them would be great?
Or is it a case of replacing them?
Thanks - Mick

go to detailers
go to detailers paradise.com.au and ask the question there. They may be able to recommend some compound to clear it. They have done somilar things with plastics and glass.

yeah if they are physically
yeah if they are physically damaged nothing short of a repair will do it.
Having said that mine were a bit weathered also and I used Mothers plastic cleaner(or restorer?) from the auto shop and came up a treat.
Lay them on flat ground and follow the instructions
Give a man a mask, and he'll show you his true face...
The older you get the more you realize that no one has a f++king clue what they're doing.
Everyone's just winging it.

Plexus works well if they
Plexus works well if they are still in good shape. If they are already bad, as a last resort which works really well for me is household JIF.
