Road between Lancelin and Cervantes

hey guys. We're heading to Jurien for the night on Saturday. My old map has the road between Lancelin and Cervantes as a dirt road. Is this still the case and if so, is it worth driving (in a Navara 4wd, just can't be bothered if it means getting beaten up for 75km). Or is it best to head back to the Brand and around that way?
Thanks
Tim

Arent they putting in a new road now? (at least to wedge atm, leveled but not surfaced, or mostly surfaced but closed?).

When I did the route I went kinda NE from lancelin (instead of due E, and slightly south). Seemed a bit shorter/quicker than the other route (forget the road name).

The lancelin to Cervantes stretch is currently under construction- I'm pretty sure it is supposed to be completed by around April this year (don't hold me to that) until then use Brand Hwy. It is going to make Jurien, Leeman etc a bit closer for the metro crew.

Thanks for that, I saw the new road going in, the public access/bitumen part stops just south of the Pinnacles.
