IF you want to see whats new and exciting in rod building , or the newest techniques etc , or crazy radical wraps then head on over to rodbuilding.org , there is some of the most artistic rod builders in the world showwing off their wares and offering advice ( if you join) I spend an hour or so every week just drooling over all the stuff they have made .
TRUELY AMAZING .

Acid wraps etc
There are heaps of pic in binding , marbling , and stuff about spacing guides , reel seats butt caps , everything you need to know and a heap you didn't know on the site and a good forum FULL of knowledgable experts .
After looking at some of the stuff on this site you won't be satisfied with a pick of colours and a comfy foregrip on your next custom rod thats for sure , you can even contact these guys to get a rod built and shipped here .

there are some good articles
there are some good articles in the library of that webpage aswell. esp the one explaining what Fuji New Concept Guide spacing is, that came in handy when building my GT stick

by the way mudhole.com is a fantastic site for buying rod building componentry they've got lots... and it works out that rod blanks that hit the shore from the US work out heaps cheaper (well from my experience and others that i know that have bought from there)
also have some rod building tips and instructionals on there too
