ROD options, for slidebaiting off the beach. ???

Hows it going,

Just looking for some help with choosing a Rod for primarily using to Slide bait.

With my current reel selection, im looking at using my 6500 Saltist. So unless there is a rod out there capable of use with both spin and overhead reels... i will be looking for a Spin Rod. 12-14 foot, 13 being my ideal length....something able to handle 6 ounces cast weight.

Any help would be great..

Cheers.

Personally I would go with

Personally I would go with something with a much more solid tip. Some of the SA sliding rods also come in a spin model i think. Maybe have a look at the poseidon gold class 5 piece. Rated to 7 but casts 8oz fine

thought they came in a high

thought they came in a high mount spin model? Could be wrong...

EDIT: just found a site showing the models

http://www.fishingtackle.co.za/Poseidon-Surf-Rods/View-all-products.html

they make a dedicated 5 piece spin.

Couldnt tell you if its low mount but would assume not.

Loomis and franklin also do some good sliding rods and some of theirs are not low mount

 wickid... sounds like good

wickid... sounds like good options there. I did check out one of those poseidons when i was last in perth. They sure are a good bit of kit, with a price tag to match.

Was hoping to find something more around the $300 mark that would handle my needs. I dont require different rated tips.

Diawa sensor surf are real nice rods. I got a 13ft one and it has no dramas casting big weights. Fell really good loaded up to big fish to.
