Rod & Reel Combo

All the best for the new year to all Fishwrecked members.
I'm looking for a good combo mainly used for jewie and other bottom bouncing species but would like something that can stand up to jigging for Sambos etc.
Can anyone suggest anything???

Cheers!!

daiwa saltist 50h with around a 24kg overhead rod i.e shimano tcurve deep jig 400 overhead model.

or a shimano spheros 14000 with a 15-24kg spin rod. i.e Tcurve deep jig 400.

Spooled with 80lb braid of your choice!

Trade in???

Pete,

You're not thinking of trading in that orange stick are you? That thing is vintage. Caught a nice Baldie last trip, though I doubt it would stand up to a sambo bigger than a couple of kilo's, having said that, I would love to see you try.(Hehehe)

Happy new year mate, we will have to get out there again soon.

Unfortunately I am not a big tackle junkie, so my advice is listen to Honsu or Shizz, they both know their tackle very well. I would stay around or below a 15kg rod for Dhuies, but that is my personal opinion as I prefer to fish lighter than 24kg. When bottom bouncing you get a lot of bycatch that won;t put a bend in a 24kg rod but will still give you some fun on a 10 - 15kg stick.

Cheers

Andy Mac
