Submitted by breno1985 on Tue, 2010-04-27 19:52
haya guys,
im at rotnest atm and went ot today to the westend just to see what was there.
found a small school of salmon in the corner of a litle bay , about 15-20 fish.
anyway i spent about 3 hours casting at the same school with metals, plastics and a diving lure that someone
left wraped in seaweed for me. AND NOTHING!!! gooooooot a fue bumps and half assed chases, Most of them were injured so i dont think thay cared about chaseing.
im going out tommorow and i was hopeing to get a few tips (if i can find salmon again)
PS these guys were only about 10 m from shore with a couple swimming rite in to shore (if i had a gidgy???)
THANKS for any help you can give

try burly, chuck some bread
try burly, chuck some bread crums, mulies and oil in just try get them on the bite, salmon can be a little like on one day and not the next. It sounds like your lure selection is fine, as a last resort you could try using a mulie or a herring.

dunno where you were, but I
dunno where you were, but I assume shore based - I pretty much got a fish a cast for an hour today at the back end of rotto. ENded up chucking GT poppers and winding flat out to see if I could not hookup - I think I got one cast back to the boat in about 7.
