hi all
Has anyone followed the Rottnest ferry back from Rotto to Fremantle? Any issues? Thinking of heading over early tomo coming back Friday, but those raging southerlys don't look too inviting. Jumping in behind the big boat would take the edge off.
Oh and boat is a Whitley cr2590.
Cheers

Seen it done plenty of times
Seen it done plenty of times mate just don't get too close
if really rough you may struggle to keep up with her - the ferry is a big boat on a time schedule so it goes pretty quick and even on the flat water of her wake you may struggle to keep up or get belted trying to keep up.
you've got a bigger boat than me and I'm confident to get back even with a big swell and big winds, my advice would be forget the ferry and just take it easy - slow and steady is the trick... if you need to rely on the wake of a big boat to make safe then prob shouldn't be doing.....

I've
seen it done plenty of times too. But as Chris said, you'll be battling to keep up. The airborne shots from the ferry are quite entertaining. cheers Pete.

We use to do it all the time
We use to do it all the time in our five metre ali for that very reason. We use to try and sit as close as we can like 20mtrs of the stern, as like the others said it is hard to keep up with. We would get half way home if we were lucky then just drop off and go at stubbie speed and sit behind the clears and enjoy the ride.
