Round 11

The Eagles to bounce back with a win against Essendoping with King Darling back in the side. Are Collingwood the new flat track bullies? Their seven wins from the bottom seven sides, imposters methinks. Well we'll find out this weekend GWS for me . And because I'm not tipping GC over the Shockers, Sydney just over North and I think Melbourne might stand up this week over the Saints.

Peanut gallery

Wed, 2015-06-10 23:09

Good to to see the peanut gallery are all in sync, where's the latest addition though? You still around Jimmy Sparks?

Happy for the young Pies to be beating up some other teams, how good are we gonna be going forward with three top ten picks still to debut and an All Australian CHB to return. Futures looking rosy at Pie land.

What about King Notacluey is he getting the flick off the throne now Jack’s back .. pressures on him to perform as in get the footy , not theatrics lol .

Pies have a few formidable teams coming up if they drop those , I suppose we can rename their Rnd 16 game to the FTB’s Derby

Port            at home
Freo           on the rebound big time
Weagles     but I want both teams to lose
Swans        I would presume though fingers crossed not
Pies            Clokey’s on fire lol might be close though
Demons     for some reason unbeknown

 Definitely got a new FTB

Wed, 2015-06-10 21:47

Definitely got a new FTB team.  The eagle's have all but dropped that tag.  collingwood stepping up and will confirm it by not beating GWS.

Hird will be the next coach out of work...  eagles will put another nail in his coffin.  for some reason I reckon this will be a blow out.

Who is port playing?  geelong?  port for me.

Pav won't have two bad games in a row.  The new pearce is a look at our future.  taberner as well.  The young guys to shine.  freo will win.

I'd love to see north beat sydney just to get that 2 game buffer back, but I think it's unlikely.  sydney.

and melbourne are definitely a better team. Dees to win.

Port

Freo

Eagles

Sydney but no sure bet

GWS - yes wobbles this is no flat track team anymore, only beating last years easy beats (see below though by 25points) - will feel a punch this weekend - and I cant wait till June 25 - Freo and the poor Wobbles have to travel over here. (Yes yes I know Im Eagles but still love Freo as 2TEAM)

Deamons to add some more cred to their (slow) comeback

freo to relax a little pav to rest soon?

eagles score 142 against bombers in a hundred point drubbing. Hird to snap and sack his assistants

port starting to roll and the big 4 will start to stamp there authority on the league. They have given freo a big head start but.

Genuine question... how do

Thu, 2015-06-11 14:26

Genuine question... how do the dockers compare crowley getting done now, and johnson getting done previously - to the cousins, fletcher, chick, hunter era of west coast ?

Forget performance enhancing - because I don't think that counts in any of the situations. But in terms of "drug use" - are the 2 teams really any different now ?

(well.. lets not be naive. No team is different - it happens at ALL clubs)

What crowley has done is not

Thu, 2015-06-11 14:41

What crowley has done is not illegal.  He went to a doctor and got a legal drug.  The others, Johnson included, have used, or believed to have used illegal drugs.

no comparison in my opinion.

crowley hasn't broken any law except the rules of football and sport in general.

that doesn't excuse him.  he still guilty, particularly of being stupid.

You are wrong. He didnt get it from a Dr, but from a mate or something like that. No Dr would give that drug (Methadone) to any sportsman unless he is a total Quack, and then risks Big time to get infront of the Medical Board for professional misconduct. Go read the report.

The AFL Players Association (AFLPA) expressed its support for Crowley after Thursday's ban.

"We will continue to provide ongoing support to Ryan during this difficult time," AFLPA chief executive Paul Marsh.

I don't think that Crowley is a drug cheat. What he took was nothing that would make you play better, probably the opposite. It was a pain killer, gee, I take heaps of that and I'm not a drug cheat. I would like to see him go around again next year. I think there a job for him in the team.

Viewed more like performance recovering than enhancing. Bit like having panadol to get rid of a headache (Sam Riley) wont improve PB's, just get you back where youve trained to be.

But it is bloody stupid. Running on an injury masked by local anaesthetic means you will most likely injure that area more. For a Grand final probably understandable, but would I do it for a player, not on your life.

 The asda take on pain

Thu, 2015-06-11 21:24

The asda take on pain killers is the same as giving pain relief to horses to get them through a race.  it allows a player (or horse) to play (run) through an injury and enhances the risk of injury being made worst and is a risk to the player.

it's simple - it's against the rules.  He should have gone to the club doctor and got something that wasn't a prescribed.  even if that meant he missed a week or two afterwards.

Wish him well for the future , pretty hard for a 31yr old to get back on the AFL track but if he does goodluck to him and yes he was a club champion in 2012 .

Do the crime do the time , but what is that gear they pump into blokes on game day .. ie : I remember not long ago seeing Selwood’s hand ballooned up but still playing , I presume it just masks the pain which could result in further injury . Isn’t that what they are supposedly trying to stop . Regardless of what it is they use

It’s a hot footy in adelaide

It’s a hot footy in adelaide , great game thus far .  Lingy reckons nothing in Selwoods smack lol . Bit of a toss up whether Johnson will lose the plot as well .

I think his own admission is that he hasn't been playing great footy in the last couple of weeks. at least against the eagles anyway.  And neither have the team.  I don't think he would be challenging at the moment.   But really would you rather see someone be sanction for that or the Steven may bump on rockcliff?  I think the latter is part of the game and sellwoods completely unnecessary.

No. Not wrong.  It was assessed and the low impact saved him.  As I said, the only thing saving him is that it's low impact.

I thought I was wrong once.  It turned out that I was only mistaken.
