S Bend report PB Tailor
Hi Everyone
Spent the weekend up at Sbend drove up on good friday morning and hit the beach about 9.30 am with a high tide at 12 first 4 casts 4 nice tailor. between my mate and i we landed 11 up to 45 cm and released heaps of small ones as well as a few herring and wrasse.
the next day was pretty weedy but i still managed 6 i used 3 as bait hoping for a mulloway but ended up hooking more tailor even though iwas using snelled 7/0.
Sunday was another pretty good day and the highlight was when i sent out a whole herring on snelled 7/0 about half an hour after the high tide 1.30pm and got smashed by my personal best 60cm greenback as pictured. Other people staying there didnt seem to have too much luck witha couple of mulloway landed early in the morning on a run out tide.
i had my cray pots off dongara and pulled them a couple of times for not much return although they were in pretty close. we had a quick bash around the irwin reef on monday for only 1 undersize dhu a couple of wrasse and a squid. unfortunately we had to come in at lunchtime in order to get back to perth. all in all a good weekend
cheers

Funny you mention the snelled hooks, fishing on the weekend was using snook fillets on a similar rig and picked up some nice tailor while everyone using mulies got squat

Nice Greenback
S Bend always produces something from what I'v eheard.
Only fished that region once from the flat rocks area and got a couple of mulloway early morning.
Cheers

Nice Tailor Mate
One of my favourite locations that's for sure. Once I pick up my new 4x4 in the next week or so I am headed straight up for a couple of days. Thanks for the report.

nice looking fish and gutter
nice looking fish and gutter there. I've really neglected the beach fishing in the last few years, makes me want to get back into it.
