Sabicraft 659SC

Looking to buy a new Stabicraft 659SC.

Any one own one or know someone who owns one. How do they handle sharp choppy waters.

Looked at a Barcrusher but not a big fan due to my local dealer.

Looked at a fibreglass Evolution 6mtr but to much maintance and i travel a lot on the road so was put off by the weight and HP required.

Putting my Suzuki 175 on the back.

Any feed back would be good. Alot of money to pay and want to make sure i am making the right decision.

Thanks

i travelled for 6 months in NZ and i saw so many of these as pro fishing boats. i love the inherent safety and like the ad says , the coastguards use em.
never been in one though
get a water test.

If I spent half as long fishing , as I do reading this bloody forum , I'd be twice the fisherman I am.

There is also the surtees, pretty much the same boat as the barcrusher. FWIW I'd be tempted to get one in from NZ if the $NZ is tanking again.

Spoke to a chap from one of the coast guards in NZ and they were looking at a 10 metre Naiad, not giving any local boats a look in.Unless Stabicraft don't make them that big could be a reason

Try the magazine (above) and see if there are any current articles on them,as far as I know they are well thought of and good sea boats ,but as with many ali hulls ,they can pound, jersey

Steve, Have a chat to Simon

Steve,

Have a chat to Simon C as he's got that exact model.

I have been on it plenty of times, as easily the best riding ally ive been on. Handles the chop extremely well and doesn't "slap" as hard as some allys do.

A mint boats thats for sure

Cheers,
Sam

Big Tick!

Mon, 2009-08-03 10:10

Steve,

I've been out in alot of boats over the years and can say that the Stabi is the best ali mono style boat i've ever been on. A good mate Steve Palumbo has one in Broome (larger size) also so been on a few and very impressed!

Simons boat (same model as ur looking at) was really stable especially with 3 guys on one side. Coming home with a side wind/chop & the water speed we were doing (fast) really sold me on this as the best ali mono by far. His with the 150 E-Tec zips so the Suki 175 would be sweet as!

Big tick vvv by me
