Sales 18/19th
Submitted by big john on Fri, 2006-11-17 20:36
Few good sales for this weekend in today's west.
Bluewater %20 off storewide (excluding saltiga)
Compleat Angler %15 off storewide - 20% off lures
The Lure (Joondalup) %20 off storewide
Can't make it out on the water this weekend but I might pick up a few jigs for the summer sambo onslaught.

Who say's I need one?
Just relaying some info there Kasey.
%20 off on a stella would be good though if I was in the market for one.

Can be tricky
Took a mate to B/W Melville about 2 months ago to buy a Stella , guy did his best to convince him that Saltigas were far superior and tried to tell me that no-one buys Stellas anymore as they are outdated technology and 200 notes more expensive LOL .When he quoted my mate 1150 for the Saltiga I asked if he had a Stella for him to compare it to he finally said he didn`t have any in stock for the above reasons. At this point I enquired as to why he had them advertised at 949 on his website which was a 400 note turnaround on his 200 more than Saltiga price he got a little upset. Can`t stand tacklestore owners that lie to flog what they have in stock as mate would have listened to his crap and parted with his hardearned if I wasn`t there .The clincher was on the rods when he pulled out a jigwrex and I said ``Oh thats the new shimano jobby isn`t it `` reply ``no shimano has nothing to do with these``.Mate held it up and said ``why has it got shimano written all over it then ``.
Max embarrassment for him ,instant departure for us and off to Oceanside where we were looked after very pleasantly without the bullshit.
True story and have more than one witness to back it up so don`t delete please. If they didn`t have sole rights on a couple of lines I wouldn`t go near them and I was a faithful customer for many years.
Ever notice how the proprietors newspaper and mag articles always appear to push some product they have an exclusive on. Time we all woke up!!!

B/W Morley
Can't comment on B/W Melville but all my dealings at B/W Morley have been right on the money. Rohan and the other staff deliver good advice, fishing reports and a sharp price when purchasing IMO.
Like everything in life Walky, you've got the right to vote with your wallet. Unfortunately you occasionally get the odd person who might try to take you for a ride, but karma hopefully bites them on the arse eventually.

Ps. Have shopped at Campbell's, Oceanside, Got Ya etc and will continue to do so.

Just relaying some info there Kasey.
didn't say you need one dude, just saying what I saw at bluewater at 5.55 today with all their signs up. less 20% on a stella was very tempting, and if they weren't about to close, i might have pursued the matter, and found out if it really was 20% less on them reels.
managed to squeeze 3 roostas for $16 less bout $3 = 13 bucks a haymaker, which wasnt too bad =P (unriggeD). see i do support the local tackle stores =P =P
actually, yeah the sale starts tomorrow, but i caught the last 5 mins of today, and didnt realise it hadnt started (but boys were putting signs up already), so i said ill come back tomorrow, but i got the % anyway. (thanks)
btw, bluewater aint the 'little tackle stores' anymore ey... heard about bcf (i think) opening 50 stores... now whos the bigger fish in the sea? =P
all just jokes.

Hey Kasey
But did they have a Stella in stock this time ??? Always easy to advertise what you can`t supply.

I concur Big John
Mate have shopped in most tackle shops in the metro area .The missus hates it if we are out together and just ``come across one `` I can never resist the temptation to have a look inside and generally walk out with something. Its amazing what you find in some of these little hidden away joints that are generally staffed by pretty decent chaps.
just relaying what I thought was a pretty unpleasant experience and alerting everyone to the fact that advertorials should actually be called just that ..Not unbiased articles..
Hell wheres Flywest when I need him.

Every right
Walky,
You've got every right to comment on a dodgy salesperson. I was just commenting on my own experiences at the B/W Morley store.

More competition means
More competition means better services and pricing, ultimately it’s the buyers’ choice. most stores are quite competitive on pricing, i guess generally ppl will buy from stores with better services.

B/W
Just checked B/Ws website and they are still advertising stella 20000s at A$949 so if you can get 20% off that it would be a geat deal indeed !!! Better still the PG with upgraded gears and a spare spool .

hi walky, the stella sw
hi walky,
the stella sw 20000 pg is, of course, more expensive. its supposed to be a 'japan/east asia market' version, but bluewater carries a few
did see a stella 10000, and a spare spool, but i can't remember if they had more, or the 20000 version, so i can't give an answer on that, sorry.

Like big john said, you've
Like big john said, you've every right to comment on a dodgy salesperson, I just hope you don't form an oppinion on that particular business because of that one experience. I have to admit that I haven't shopped instore at any of the bluewater stores but all my online sales service has been through Hal Harvey which there has been no crap & 100% genuine advice.
By the way 20% off $949 = $759.20 ;))
Sounds too good to be true...
