dude lost a beast about 7 kg off the rocks at point peron on whole herring, had it on 4 a couple of minutes but lost it when he was about to gaff it. Me n others offered to gaff it but he wanted to do it himself, laughed on the inside when he lost it. He would have struggled to do it himself.

They tend to hang around the reef when they start to head north.
